I am working on a website built with Gridbox on Joomla 4, and I need to properly implement an accessibility / visually impaired version of the site.
In Joomla 4 there is a built-in accessibility plugin — “System – Accessibility” (plg_system_accessibility).
Here is the issue:
(1) When I enable 'Accessibility' toggle in Gridbox site settings and than activate the “System – Accessibility” plugin in Joomla, the built-in accessibility toolbar works. However, sections in pages start breaking: the layout visually “spreads” across the screen.
(2) If I disable the 'Accessibility' toggle, the layout renders correctly again — but then font scaling (text enlargement) does not work at all.
So, my questions. Is there a recommended way to implement an accessibility / visually impaired version in Gridbox on Joomla 4? Or maybe you recommend using a third-party accessibility extension instead of the Joomla core plugin? I would prefer to work with the built-in plugin — perhaps there are some ways to prevent the container from stretching across the full width of the screen?
Thank you in advance.
