Joomla Gallery 2.2.5 has Arrived with New Features and Improvements

We’re happy to introduce a new update for the Balbooa Joomla Gallery extension. Gallery 2.2.5 Has arrived with some long awaited features such as password protection, link picker, using filenames as titles and more. We also worked on improving the existing functionality and of course, we fixed all known bugs.

Balbooa Joomla Gallery already has some kind of protection - the ability to set the access level for each category that is allowed to view category. But today we want to introduce you to a new level of category protection - Password Protection.

Password Protection allows you to set a password for a specific category and to view pictures within the category the user must enter a password!

To enable "Password Protection" for the category, in the Gallery admin panel, you need to select a category and enter the secret key in the field "Password".

A very small but important detail - even if you forget the password, you don't need to overwrite it, just click on the icon to view the password that you have entered earlier. Attention to details - it's a key to success!

Also we want to note, that password protection is available and for Classic Gallery Layout and for Albums.

Feature "Filename to Title" allows you to use a picture filename as a title for your picture.

In order to export filenames to picture titles, you need to select pictures from the list and click on the icon "Filename to Title".

But how to use the "Filename to Title" feature for all my Gallery pictures?!

Select category Root  ➝  Select all folders from the list  ➝  Click on the icon "Filename to Title".

And it's not all! By clicking on the icon "Filename to Title" fields "Alias" and "Image Alt" will be automatically filled in!

Also, we want to say "Min, Thank you!" for your assistance with implementing this feature in the previous versions of the Gallery.

The Gallery allows you to set links for thumbnails. To make this process easier we have added the "Link Picker" tool. Link Picker allows you to assign thumbnails to your Joomla Menu Items, Joomla Articles and Gridbox Pages.

By the way, the same link picker tool you could see in the Joomla website builder Gridbox.

Balbooa Joomla Gallery allows you to filter pictures by additional tags and color. In Gallery 2.2.5, we have added the ability to select Filtering Methods - Include and Exclude.

What is the difference between these two methods of filtering?!

• Include - Displaying image if a picture has as a minimum one of the selected tag and(or) color in the filter
• Exclude - Displaying image only if a picture includes all selected tags and(or) colors in the filter
