Gridbox 3. Improved Order Management
In Gridbox 3, we not only update the interface but also change the approach to working with orders. New tools, improved logic, quick access to key data, and even more control than ever before. Everything to make managing orders in Gridbox Joomla eCommerce not a routine, but a pleasure.
Orders Page
Gridbox 3 introduces flexible column management on the Orders page. We’ve added a new Filter Columns tool that lets you customize the display of information to your needs:
- Show or hide any columns
- Change their order using drag and drop
- Add extra columns with data from the order and checkout fields.
System columns: Order, Status, Date, and Total stay in place to ensure data displays correctly. Everything else is up to you.
Now you don’t need to open every order just to understand its key details. The table gives you a clear overview at a glance, while the modal remains available for exploring the full information whenever you need it. Just don’t forget to click Save to apply your column settings.
Order Settings
In Gridbox 3, we’ve introduced a new tool Order Number Format. Now you have full control over how your order numbers look. You can set up:
- Prefix —add a unique prefix before the number, such as your company or store abbreviation.
- Start Number — choose the number where order counting begins. This is especially useful if you’re migrating to Gridbox from another eCommerce system and want to keep a familiar sequence.
- Suffix — add an ending to the number, for example, the year or any other marker.
At first glance, this may seem like a small feature, but it opens up more possibilities than you think. Order Number Format helps you build a clear and trackable order structure. It also creates a professional image for your store, since customers see clean and meaningful order numbers. Additionally, this new feature simplifies internal organization for managers and accounting teams, eliminating confusion with numbering.
So, Order Settings become another powerful tool that makes working with orders more convenient and flexible, adapting the Gridbox eCommerce System to your business needs.
Viewing and Editing Orders
The Order modal now follows the native Gridbox 3 style, with a clean layout, well-organized fields, and no visual noise.
Order statuses are now assigned via a simple dropdown. Adding a comment or viewing the status history takes just one click on the icons next to it. Honestly, it’s easier to show than to explain. See the screenshot below.
The Edit, Download Invoice, and Print Invoice options have moved to the right-click context menu. Now printing an invoice does not require opening the Order modal.
Creating a new order is still quick and easy. One click on the red Add New Item button opens a brand-new modal with a cleaner design and more convenient field organization. Filling out order details has never been easier.
We’ve also redesigned the Product Picker modal. It’s clearer and more visual, making it much easier to find and select the right items. A small change that makes a big difference when managing large catalogs.
And we didn’t stop there. The Coupon Code modal has been reimagined in the same consistent Gridbox 3 style. Just like in other modal windows, a Search helps you quickly find the coupon you need, keeping your workflow smooth and efficient.
What’s more, Gridbox 3 introduces the ability to apply multiple promo codes to a single purchase, something that wasn’t possible before. This gives you more flexibility for marketing campaigns and lets customers enjoy combined discounts in just a couple of clicks.
CSV Import / Export Orders
Gridbox's order Import / Export feature allows you to manage and transfer all orders from one store to another using a CSV file format.
In the Gridbox 3, the orders Import / Export feature has been moved to the "More Actions" dropdown. For a better user experience, the Import and Export functionality has been split into two separate modals and redesigned in the native Gridbox 3 style.
For ease of use, the operating logic has been retained as before. To export orders in CSV format, simply click on Export CSV ➝ leave the fields you want to export and click the export button. The CSV file with all data will be automatically downloaded to your device.
To import previously exported orders, from the "More Actions" dropdown, click on Import CSV ➝ Select CSV file with orders and import. As in the current version, you can back up orders before import for safety and select overwrite orders with the same ID to avoid creating duplicates.
Have you noticed a new option in the "More Actions" dropdown?! We've added the ability to mark all orders as read. A very simple, but very convenient option if you're selling digital products and you don’t need to manage each order.
Order Statuses
Order Statuses now have their own separate page, more space and more convenience. We’ve left behind the cramped twin-table layout and moved to a classic table view with the native Gridbox design.
And best of all, we’ve added features that were missing before:
- Sort statuses by any column to quickly find what you need
- Search by keyword to save time scrolling through the list of statuses
- Pagination for easier browsing when you have many statuses.
This makes managing order statuses faster, clearer, and far more efficient. It’s now an organized process, not a hunt for the right row.
Creating a new order status is just as smooth. A single click on the red Add New Item button opens a modal where you enter the name and choose a color. In Gridbox 3, we’ve switched to native browser color pickers, saying goodbye to third-party libraries. It may sound like a small detail, but it’s part of our bigger mission: to optimize Gridbox at every level, even down to the Color Picker.
Final Thoughts
The updated Orders and Order Statuses in Gridbox 3 are all about control, speed, and convenience. You decide what information you see, and the system adapts to your workflow.
We’re building Gridbox 3 to be more than just an extension. It’s your workspace, your control center, and your growth partner. Every improvement fits into a unified, intuitive ecosystem where managing your sites is simple and efficient.
We continue to move forward, and there are even more features ahead that will turn the admin panel into a truly working tool, and not just a place where data is stored. Stay tuned, soon you’ll see how it all comes together into a fast, powerful, and complete Gridbox 3.
