Gridbox 3. Managing Apps and Integrations

Gridbox 3. Managing Apps and Integrations

Gridbox is much more than just a page builder. It includes powerful apps and third-party integrations that allow you to expand functionality and build websites of any type. In Joomla website builder Gridbox 3.0, we have reimagined how apps and integrations are managed. Let’s dive into what’s changed!

Joomla Website Builder Gridbox 3. Managing Apps and Integrations

Unified Interface

One of our main goals for the Gridbox 3.0 admin panel was to unify the interface. In the current version, we have three different interface layouts: Pages, Apps, and Integrations with Store Settings, each with its own layout view.

In Gridbox 3.0, we have eliminated unnecessary design variations to streamline the code, making the product more stable and easier to use, especially for new customers.

Now, Apps and Integrations have been moved to a separate menu Extensions, where you’ll also find Themes.

Managing Apps

Apps have undergone the most significant changes in Gridbox 3.0. They are now displayed in a classic table view. You no longer need to install apps manually. To enable an app, simply publish it.

We didn’t reinvent the wheel, this approach is inspired by "Manage Joomla Extensions". Just like in Joomla, the Apps page allows you to publish, filter, and search apps by status, title, or ID.

Managing Site Content Apps

The management and creation of content apps such as Pages, Store, Blog, Zero, and Booking are now grouped into a separate menu — Content.

The Content section retains a familiar view, ensuring an intuitive and seamless user experience.

Creating Content Apps

To create a new content app, it must first be published in the Apps section. Once published: click Add New Item ➝ select the desired app from the dropdown list ➝ click Save.

You can create as many content apps as you need with this method.

Managing Content Apps

With a right-click, you can duplicate, delete, or move a content app into a folder. Simply clicking on the app name will take you directly to editing.

For better organization, you can group content apps into folders. These folders can be dragged and dropped for easy sorting. Just like before, created folders will display in the sidebar navigation submenu.

Managing Integrations

Gridbox allows you to integrate third-party services and scripts, significantly expanding the capabilities of your websites. In Gridbox 3.0, the Integrations management page has been completely redesigned.

We have removed the "Twin-Table" approach. Now, just like Apps, Integrations are displayed in a classic table view, making them much easier to manage.

Easy Integration. Enter, Publish, Done!

We believe simplicity is key. The Gridbox 3.0 integration process remains as intuitive as ever. Even if you’re doing this for the first time, it’s easy. Just enter the required API keys and click Publish. Done! Your integration is active.

We have already updated the documentation, and it will be available after the Gridbox 3.0 release. But honestly, you probably won’t need it. The process is so simple!

New Integration. Google reCAPTCHA

Spam protection is a common part of any website. Unfortunately, Joomla's built-in Google reCAPTCHA plugin was unexpectedly dropped from Joomla 5.

We have good news for you. Your websites will be fully shielded from spambots and other unwanted activities cause Gridbox 3.0 comes with new integration - Google reCAPTCHA.

With Gridbox 3.0, you can rest easy knowing your sites are protected 24/7. As always, the setup will be easy on our side. The documentation is already ready and will be published immediately after the release of Gridbox 3.0.

Deleted Integrations. Hyper Comments and Gravatar

The project Hyper Comments was closed and did not survive the time. There is no reason to worry since Gridbox includes a much more advanced built-in Comment System.

Gravatar integration was used in Gridbox comments and reviews apps. Since Gridbox allows you to upload your profile pictures from the User Account view, there is no longer a reason to use 3rd party integrations. Cleanliness and lightness, above all!

Wrapping It Up

As you can see, the management of Apps and Integrations in Gridbox 3.0 has been completely revamped. The interface is unified, the workflow is optimized, and managing apps and integrations is easier than ever. We make all these changes with only one goal — to reduce the variability of interface elements to achieve the most stable work of the product.

What does this mean for you?

  • Less time spent on setup – more time for creativity
  • A consistent management experience – no confusion
  • Optimized code – a more stable product

And this is just the beginning! We've made many changes to Gridbox 3.0, and we'll go through them all. So stay tuned! The most exciting things are yet to come 😉
