Gridbox 3. Product Submission Form

Gridbox 3. Product Submission Form

Today, we are starting to show you changes in one of the key parts — the Submission Form.

The Submission Form is the layout used for sending data inside the Gridbox Editor. Everything goes through the submission form: products, Zero App, bookings. Each item has its own form, through which you manage the content. In Gridbox 3, we completely redesigned its structure, visual appearance, and interaction to make your work faster, easier and cleaner. Let’s take a look at how the Submission Form is changing in the Joomla website builder Gridbox 3.

Joomla Website Builder Gridbox 3. Product Submission Form

Submission Form Overview

The Submission Form received one of the most noticeable redesigns. In your current Joomla website builder Gridbox versions, the submission form looks very different.

In Gridbox 3, we completely abandoned the fragmented approach. Now everything: fonts, spacing, field design, icons, modals, follows the unified Gridbox 3 interface system.

Design and Layout

The Submission Form now dynamically adjusts to your screen width. More space means less scrolling and more visible information.

We unified all fields in the Submission Form. Now they follow the style of Page Settings and the entire Editor. Fields received clean labels, updated dropdowns, and a unified logic of placement.

Every element feels like part of a single system, without the visual dissonance.

Dark Mode

In Gridbox 3, Dark Mode is fully integrated into the Editor. We didn’t just invert the palette. We carefully refined the shades, contrast, and color interaction to ensure the interface stays clean, readable, and comfortable even during long working sessions.

You can choose Light, Dark or Auto. The Auto mode inherits the color scheme from your browser and the browser from your operating system, creating a unified visual space. This is especially convenient for those who work at different times of the day or frequently switch between tabs.

Dark Mode reduces eye strain, helps you stay focused, and makes working in the interface more comfortable, especially if you edit your websites in the evening or prefer a minimalistic, calm environment. Gridbox 3 adapts to you and your work rhythm, not the other way around.

Sidebar Options

In Joomla website builder Gridbox 3, we paid special attention to the sidebar. The visual style has been updated, modals became cleaner, and adding categories and tags is now faster and more convenient.

One of the most practical improvements is the Default Category field in the General Settings tab. Previously, you had to enable a small star icon to mark a category as default, which wasn’t always obvious. Now it’s a standalone field, clear and visible. You immediately see which category is assigned as the default. This helps avoid mistakes, especially if your website contains many categories.

In the Publishing tab, a new Author field has appeared with a new Author Picker. When you click on it, a modal in the style of Gridbox 3 opens — lightweight, minimalistic, and with a convenient Search. Adding authors is now not only simpler, but much faster, especially when you have a long list of authors.

Managing Submission Form

In Gridbox 3, we've made managing field groups easier and more intuitive. Now all actions, from creating a new group to moving, renaming, or deleting it, happen logically and consistently.

We redesigned the interface, standardized modals, and updated icons. As a result, managing the structure of the submission form became more predictable and clear.

Managing Groups

In existing versions of Gridbox, a toggle button is used to enable editing of field groups. In Gridbox 3, we replaced it with a Settings icon. Clicking this opens a modal where you can enable Edit Submission Form and save the change. After that, you can create groups, reorder fields using drag and drop.

Creating Groups

The logic of creating a new field group remains almost the same, only the modal has changed. To create a new group, simply click the Add New Group icon, enter the Title, and then click Save.

Rename Groups

To rename a group, click the icon → Edit → enter the new name in the modal → save the change.

Delete Groups

To delete a group, click the Delete icon in the same menu. Clean and organized.

Product Submission Form

The product submission form is one of the most complex areas in the Gridbox Joomla eCommerce. Here you work with unique fields, variations, badges, product photos, and more.

In Gridbox 3, we didn’t fundamentally change the functionality, but we redesigned the entire appearance and interaction to make your work faster and more stable.

Product Fields Overview

Product Fields define the data structure that determines how a product displays and interacts with variations. In Gridbox 3, we approached this section with special attention. We optimized the order of elements and made working with fields more predictable.

All key sections received changes, from Pricing and Inventory to Extra Options. Every detail was refined to streamline your workflow.

Pricing and Inventory

We've completely redesigned the Pricing and Inventory section. We rethought its structure to make working with prices and stock not only faster, but much more comfortable.

Now all fields are placed vertically, one under the other. This alignment may seem simple, but it helps you instantly understand the information: which fields are already filled, where something is missing, and what needs correction. You no longer need to scan the interface with your eyes. Everything is presented sequentially, without visual jumps.

We also removed contrasting labels that previously pulled too much attention and created a feeling of heaviness. The new design is calm and balanced. Nothing distracts you from your work, and the interface no longer competes with the content.

We added placeholders, small hints inside fields that show the expected format and reduce the chance of mistakes.

Regarding Product Badges, all management is now located in the admin panel. In the Editor, you can only add or remove badges. For more details, see the blog post Gridbox 3. Product Badges and Options.

Adding product badges now happens through a modal with tags, just like everywhere else in Gridbox 3. This reduced code and helped standardize the process.

Extra Options

Extra Options are essential when configuring a product. This is where sellers add additional services that affect the final cost and checkout experience. In Gridbox 3, we rebuilt the interaction with Extra Options, keeping the same functionality while elevating usability to a new level.

Extra Options now use the same new modal you see across Joomla website builder Gridbox 3. The biggest improvement is that you no longer need to add options one by one. You open the modal, select all necessary extra options, and save. A small detail that changes the pace of work.

Related Products

You no longer select related products one by one. In Gridbox 3, you will use a new modal with a list of all products, where you can sort them by app or use the Search. Just select everything you need, click Save, and you’re done. It’s faster, easier, and helps you plan cross-selling right while creating the product.

Product Gallery and Slideshow

Working with product photos is one of the most frequent tasks when creating a product. In the current version, each image has too many control elements around it, creating a busy interface. So we decided to reduce the number of distracting elements and make the process cleaner and simpler.

To replace an image or edit its Image Alt, click the Settings icon. To reorder images, use drag and drop. To delete an image, click the Delete icon.

Standard Product

Standard products are the foundation of any online store. Most catalogs start with them, and they shape your daily workflow. That’s why in Gridbox 3, we aimed to make working with them as clear and natural as possible.

Options and Variations

Options and variations are one of the most demanding parts of the Store App, where accuracy and speed are essential. In Gridbox 3, we didn’t change the logic behind variations, but we completely updated the visual structure and interaction.

Options and variations received a redesigned modal that is now part of the new Gridbox 3 UI system. This improvement is especially noticeable when working with products that contain different types of options and variations.

New Image Picker. The redesigned Image Picker is an improvement that noticeably increases your work speed. It now looks modern and minimalistic, displays images more conveniently, and no longer includes unnecessary visual elements.

Updated Variations Table. The variations table was also redesigned, keeping the original logic. It became much easier to read. The table is wider, allowing fields to display without being compressed. Placeholders help you enter values in the correct format.

Now you will find the needed variation much faster. Working with large data sets becomes easier, and even dozens of variations feel structured.

Digital Product

Adding a Digital Product is an example of how we improve usability without changing the working logic. Digital Products in Gridbox 3 are functionally familiar, but the interface around them has become more user-friendly.

Now fields are placed vertically using the native Gridbox 3 design, and the dropdown with time limits is inherited from your browser. The new interface doesn’t distract and doesn’t feel overloaded.

Subscription Product

Subscriptions are one of the most advanced and multi-layered product types in Joomla website builder Gridbox. And in the third version, we also paid close attention to them. We didn’t change the logic behind subscriptions. We simply made working with them cleaner and easier to understand.

Subscription Settings

In the Joomla website builder Gridbox 3, the Subscription Settings section received a deep redesign, just like the rest of the Submission Form. All fields are now aligned in a single vertical structure, with no visual noise, with no large gaps, and without jumping between different levels of the interface. This makes the process feel natural and helps you navigate even complex subscription settings more easily.

We also removed heavy visual elements, accented labels, and bright add buttons. Instead, you now see the clean, calm, balanced look of Gridbox 3, which helps you focus on the content rather than the interface.

The modal for selecting a product and the dropdown for time intervals were also redesigned in the Gridbox 3 style. Together, they form a unified rhythm of the interface that feels consistent and comfortable.

Renewal and Upgrade

The Renewal and Upgrade field group is unique to subscriptions and has also been enhanced. We redesigned the layout, removed unnecessary density, and added more space. Each field is now easier to read, and values are easier to understand.

New placeholders help you enter the correct values, which is especially important for plan upgrades and subscription renewals, where mistakes are easy to make and consequences can be significant.

The Upgrade Plans option has received its own new modal, clean, minimalistic, and logical, like everything else in the Joomla website builder Gridbox 3. Elements don’t overload each other, and you can focus completely on the content. This approach reduces errors and streamlines the setup process.

Conclusion

You might say that there are no radical changes and that the functionality hasn’t changed much. And you would be absolutely right because that was our goal. We didn’t want to break your habits. We wanted the transition to the Joomla website builder Gridbox 3 to feel natural. So you feel like a fish in water, only now the water is cleaner, clearer, and fresher.

The Submission Form in Gridbox 3 is a new level of comfort, clarity, and consistency. And this is only the beginning. Next, you will see changes to the submission forms in Zero, Booking, and Blog apps.
