Personalizing Dashboard in Joomla Website Builder Gridbox

Personalize Gridbox Dashboard

We are pleased to introduce you to the new version of Joomla website builder Gridbox 2.18.1, which gives users unprecedented control over the dashboard. This update will significantly improve efficiency by minimizing the number of unnecessary clicks and providing ample opportunities for customization. The essence of this update is to provide a convenient setup of the workspace for effective website maintenance. Let's take a closer look at what awaits you in this version. Let's roll!

Manage Gridbox Navigation

With this update, we are pleased to introduce the ability to edit the Gridbox Sidebar Menu. Sounds great, doesn't it? Now you can add absolutely any custom links – be it a Joomla menu, web resource pages or any other important sections.

Just imagine how much easier and faster your work will be in the Gridbox admin panel! You no longer have to waste time searching for the pages or settings you need. All the necessary links will always be at hand, so you can focus on the process, not on the search.

This new feature will significantly improve your workflow, making navigation through the admin panel convenient and efficient. Try it today and see for yourself how much more enjoyable and productive your work will be with Gridbox!

Now, let's see how to do this. So, to add your own link to the Gridbox sidebar menu, switch the Edit Navigation button. Then click the Add New Item icon and fill in the fields. Everything is very simple!

Sorting Menu Items Using Drag and Drop

You can easily sort the created menus using drag and drop. Just drag and drop menu items, and your sidebar menu will be organized the way you want. This will help make navigation intuitive.

Setting Permissions for Menu Items

Each menu item can be assigned individual permissions. This allows you to control which user groups can see and use specific sidebar menu items. This flexibility increases security and allows you to adapt the Gridbox admin panel to the needs of different user groups.

Creating Multilevel Menus

Gridbox now supports creating multilevel sidebar menu items. You can easily organize your menu items hierarchically, creating submenus for more structured and easy navigation. This is especially useful for large Joomla sites with many sections and pages.

Gridbox Dashboard Widgets

We've developed the ability to add various widgets to your Gridbox dashboard. This will save you time and increase your productivity by focusing only on the most important tasks.

Editing Gridbox Dashboard

Gridbox now has a toggle button that allows you to edit the dashboard: add, drag, edit and delete widgets. This will make the process of setting up your workspace convenient and fast. Just switch the button in the right corner of your Gridbox panel and start customizing your dashboard.

Moving Widgets

Easily change the order of widgets and place them in a convenient dashboard area. This will allow you to organize your workspace the way you need. Just drag and drop!

Editing Widgets

Editing widgets opens up incredible customization possibilities. Now, you can rename widgets, delete and, most importantly, specify which group of users to display a particular widget. More on that below.

Displaying for Specific User Groups

This feature allows you to display only those widgets that you want to show to a specific group of users in your project. For example, Store Statistics can be made visible only to Super Users but hidden from other team members. This makes it possible to control access to information on your Joomla site.

New Dashboard Widgets

We are pleased to introduce two new widgets that are now available on the Gridbox dashboard — Booking and Quick Links. These widgets are developed to make your work much easier, more organized and productive.

Booking Widget

Meet the new widget for the Gridbox Joomla Booking! This widget simplifies booking management and makes the process even more convenient. Now, you can track all your bookings in real-time right on your Gridbox dashboard. This allows you to quickly respond to new appointments, providing a high level of customer service.

Quick Links Widget

Now you can create shortcuts on your Gridbox dashboard by adding any extension or Joomla settings. This eliminates the need to make a lot of unnecessary clicks and allows you to quickly navigate to the components or sites you need. You can add any number of links, which greatly simplifies the user experience.

To add a Quick Link, simply click Add New Item, enter a Title, paste the Link, select an Icon and then click the Save button. That's all! Also, don't forget that you can swap Quick Links.

Additional Settings for Booking and Pages Widgets

Some widgets, such as Pages and Booking, have additional settings. For example, you can set the display item sorting in Pages: Recently Opened, Recently Created, and Most Popular. Or New Booking and Upcoming in the Booking App. This will help your team members quickly find the last posts or new bookings.

Adding Multiple Widgets

The good news is that you can add multiple widgets of the same type with different item display sorting. This allows you to create unique dashboards for each user group. Perfect for delegating tasks and managing your business.

Dashboard Settings

The next part of today's update will make using Gridbox even faster and more productive. Now, you can immediately get down to business without wasting a second.

Login Redirect to Dashboard

By enabling this option, users will be immediately redirected to the Gridbox dashboard when logging into the admin part of the Joomla site. It is useful for administrators and content managers who need quick access to site management tools immediately after logging in. This option streamlines workflow and saves time.

Hide Joomla Navigation

Enabling this option hides all Joomla navigation, making your workspace appear larger and cleaner. If you need to return to Joomla, you can pre-add a Quick Link. Or you can take advantage of the new Gridbox Sidebar Menu editing capabilities.

Permissions to Dashboard Developers Tools

And finally, we want to introduce you to a new feature — Access to Dashboard Developer Tools. Now Themes, System Pages, Trashed Items, and Options are only available to users with specific permissions.

This innovation gives you even more control over access to critical settings and tools on your site. This ensures that only authorized users with specific permissions can change key settings, increasing the security and stability of your Joomla site.
