I have always wondered why plugins cannot be ordered by usage instead of strictly alphabetically. There are a few plugins I use every time I build a page or write a blog post. Having to scroll just to find basic items like text or image fields becomes frustrating and slows down the workflow.
Would it be possible to offer a sort option based on popularity or usage, or allow users to manually reorder plugins within each section? Even better would be a favorites area at the top where users could pin the tools they use most often.
This would be a meaningful usability improvement and would save a lot of time over the course of building and maintaining a website.
